ABOUT AMAR

AMAR, The Mexican Association of Retirement Communities, is the first national, nonprofit organization committed exclusively to those who wish to create and serve Active Adult & Retirement Communities, and specifically to introduce Senior Housing & Care Industry.

Founded on February 20, 2007, AMAR was created to address the demographic trends in the 50 + sector, concentrating on the needs of the generation of approximately 100 million Baby Boomers that will retire in the near future and the services they will require. For this our first objective is to educate stakeholders about the industry on its growth potential and how it should be structured.

AMAR held its first major event: “2B Alive - Independent & Assisted Living Quality of Life Summit & Expo ", in May 2008 in La Jolla, California, USA and has participated actively in both domestic and other events in the United States, including “Ventana de Mexico” in Tucson AZ.

AMAR now proudly announces that we will hold our first National Convention in Mexico City, on September 10th & 11th, 2009. The conference will bring together operators, developers, investors, entrepreneurs and service providers in key industries to discuss proposals to build and integrate communities that are attractive to those who wish to retire in Mexico. Together we will share information and experience with all interested parties on the issues of retirement communities, and how investment dollars in this industry can be channeled into Mexico. This will be the opportunity to establish new contacts and business relationships.

Also, within the framework of the Convention the first CREAN 50+ “Retirement Communities in North America” Forum will be created, through which AMAR will work to influence public policy. This forum will discuss the legislative priorities ways in which to provide a sense assurance that when choosing an AMAR member community in Mexico the retiree and their family can be confident of an unsurpassed quality of life and standard of care.

We look forward to your participation and collaboration in the groundbreaking efforts of AMAR.
